The Covid-19 pandemic has been an extremely difficult time for women living with domestic abuse. The isolation from lockdown has limited women’s ability to reach out for support. We are already seeing an increase in the demand for our services as we move out of lockdown and we expect that this demand will increase further as we progress through the next phases. We are focused on meeting this demand and providing support to women in new flexible and creative ways. It is a very challenging time for our organisation and we have created two new posts to help support us with our response to Covid-19 and to also help us drive forward our Strategic Plan 2022.
Women’s Domestic Abuse Worker, 2 x 35 hours posts
12 month fixed term contract
Salary £27,851, plus 7.5% On Call Allowance
The purpose of this role is to support our Covid-19 recovery by providing therapeutic support to women experiencing domestic abuse across our women’s services. This will involve providing innovative and creative 1-1 support to women who have experienced domestic abuse. This could be women living in refuge, women moving into their own tenancy and women seeking Outreach support. You will provide person centred support to women as they move through their journey and will advocate to make sure that women’s voices are heard and their needs are met.
It is essential that you have experience of providing therapeutic support to women who have experienced gender based violence. You must also come with a feminist analysis of Domestic Abuse. You must have either an HNC Social Services or SVQ Level 3 Social Services and Healthcare that allows you to register with SSSC.
