Children and Young People Family Resource Follow On Worker 21 hours

Salary £16,060 (£26,767 pro rata) + 7.5% Out of Hours Allowance

Fixed term contract until 30th June 2020


At Glasgow Women’s Aid we provide temporary refuge accommodation, crisis support and outreach support for women, children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse.


We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic woman to provide therapeutic and emotional support to children and young people who are leaving refuge to move into their own home with mum.  You will work with the children as they prepare to leave refuge and will continue to provide support as they transition to their new home. You will thrive on managing a busy case load, conflicting demands and dealing with complex and challenging situations.  


You will provide children with 1-1 support, run group work programmes and free play sessions. You will work alongside mums, partnership agencies and the Women’s Follow On Workers. 


It is essential that you have experience of supporting children who have experienced the effects of gender based violence in both a 1-1 and group setting.  It is also essential that you have a qualification that allows you to register as a Practitioner in a Day Care of Children Service with the SSSC and are committed to the feminist perspective of domestic abuse.   It is also essential that you hold a driving licence and have access to a car.
