We were approached late last yeat by 3 students from the Caledonian University who were planning a fashion show as a part of their course. Ally and her friends had decided that they wanted to donate part of the proceeds to Glasgow Women's Aid. Of course we were delighted. Alison Ryan, our Manager attended the event on the 14th of April and GWA provided our bags to hold the gifts that those attending were given. The evening was a great success and we would like to thank Ally and her fellow students for thinking of us!

The Ignis Asset Management Women's 10k was held in Bellahouston Park on Sunday. Supporters and workers took part in the event to raise funds for the organisation. It was a fabulous day with a great atmosphere and everyone enjoyed it, once they had regained normal breathing.
GWA would like to thank Kimberley Douglas, Kerry McKenzie, Jackie McLaughlin, Linda Stevenson and Liz Gardner who ran for us. From the organisation Alison Ryan, Yvonne McGregor, Tracy Charles, Elaine Purdie and Susan Jack took part, and from our Board, Martha Wardrop and Svetlana Fitzpatrick. A big thanks also to those who came to cheer us on. We are all planning our next event, possibly a marathon. Watch this space!!

Last year Glasgow Women's Aid ran a storytelling and art project with women who had accessed our service. The result of this is a book called 'A Way With Words'. The book was launched at Glasgow Women's Library on International Women's Day by Nicola Sturgeon. The book is available to buy at £5 per copy. We have also had posters made of some images with their accompanying words which are also available to purchase.
