On Monday, 8th March 2010 as part of International Women's Day, Glasgow Women's Aid held an event to launch our first book called 'A Way with Words' which was held at the Glasgow Women's Library.
The launch was held to showcase the end result of a project undertaken by women who have lived with and left their abusers. A storyteller and arts facilitator met with these women over several weeks to help them create this fabulous piece of work. The book contains stories, poems and artwork created by the women and tells their journey from 'Living with Abuse', 'Moving Into Refuge', to starting 'A New Life'.
On the day, women proudly stood up in front of the room and read stories from the book and celebrated International Women's Day. It was a fantastic day for all filled with laughter and tears and an inspiration to everyone who was there to hear their experiences.
Our book 'A Way with Words' is available to purchase and costs £5 plus postage and packing.
